Lepus Beneath Orion This Month - 14FEB2009

Lepus, the rabbit, hops along beneath the feet of Orion, the hunter, on February evenings. Orion is well up in the south by the middle of the evening, and is quite easy to find. Lepus is much fainter, but its proximity to Orion will help you pick it out.

Orion's Belt and Taurus Viewable on 28DEC2008

Orion and Taurus are in great view right now. They are in the southeast at nightfall. Look for Orion's Belt, which is a short line of three bright stars. Taurus is above Orion, marked by its V-shaped face and its orange eye, represented by the star Aldebaran.
